Job Title: Bookkeeper

Department:  Client and Advisory Services (CAS)

Reports To:   Supervisor, Manager and/or Partner

FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Job duties include working closely with our clients to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments.  Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibility is to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions for client companies.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accounting records by compiling and filing financial documents

  • Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable

  • Reconcile company's financial records to help ensure accuracy of financial statements 

  • Processing payroll and tracking payroll data including tax payments and returns

  • Prepare payroll and sales/use tax returns

  • Preparation of information returns including Form 1099s and W2s

  • Post financial transactions to accounts and prepare financial statements

  • Documenting financial transaction details and monitoring the transactions

  • Working with accounting specialist as needed


Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Accounting or a relevant field is preferred, or an equivalent amount of training and experience

  • Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial statements and accounting systems

  • Excellent communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization and with clients

  • Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills 

  • Proven track record of maintaining the confidentiality of sensitive company and client information   

  • Strong attention to detail skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online and other tax preparation and accounting software
